Holmes’ work has evolved from literal portrait representation to larger abstracted works that seek to infer a non-specific narrative that articulates an emotional transaction. She works in a highly layered manner that speaks of the complexity and messiness of life. Her practice is primarily focused on the study of stimuli, both internally and externally, that affect the human condition.
